V-Ray 7 Beta for 3ds Max: New Features and Improvements

The V-Ray 7 for 3ds Max is now available in beta, packed with a range of innovations to enhance your rendering workflow. Some of the key highlights include:
  • Support for Gaussian Splats: You can now render 3D scan data using Gaussian Splats, offering high-quality reconstructions from photos or videos.
  • Firefly Removal Algorithm: Eliminate unwanted bright spots in your renders with the new and improved firefly removal feature.
  • Efficient Rendering of Complex Light Fixtures: Optimizations in using light fixtures from Chaos Cosmos make rendering detailed interior scenes more efficient.
  • Arbitrary Render Regions and Vignetting Effects: Add artistic vignetting effects directly in the V-Ray Frame Buffer and control render regions with greater flexibility.
  • Distribution Maps for Chaos Scatter: Gain more control over object scattering with the new distribution maps.
This version also includes enhancements to the sky model and initial support for caustics rendering in V-Ray GPU, among other exciting developments.
