Meet Nigerian Architect Akinwale Arokodare building his Metaverse
Nigerian Architect Akinwale Arokodare has passion for creating digital worlds. An avid technology and design enthusiast passionate about using empathetic Design and Technology to create his Metaverse.
Akinwale believes that the next coming decade, humanity would experience significant technological advancement, especially in the regions of immersive technology. And that designers, architects, or creatives would have a huge responsibility in creating these immersive digital worlds in other to provide sensual experiences.
In this article, Akinwale shares snapshots of metaverse versions of various landmarks of Nigeria such as; Zuma rock, Tafawa Balewa Square, Civic center Lagos, National theater, Catholic Church of Christ, and the Lekki Ikoyi link bridge.
Image below shows the alternate reality expression of the CCC (Cathedral Church of Christ) located in Lagos Nigeria. In the metaverse, the building is called Quasithedral, home of the hunchbacked time-travelers. Last known resting place of the last known time traveler named Quasi.
Image below shows the alternate reality expression of the Civic center located in Lagos Nigeria. In the metaverse, the building is called Ascension, a place where warriors are trained and pledged to serve a higher purpose.
Image below shows the alternate reality expression of the National Theater located in Lagos Nigeria. In the metaverse, the building represents a monumental gravestone built to house the body of Zaebazi, a great warrior.
Image below shows the alternate reality expression of Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) located in Lagos Nigeria. In the metaverse, it is themed as The Arena, a place where gladiators from various clans gather to compete in battle.
Image below shows the alternate reality expression of Zuma Rock located in Abuja Nigeria. In the metaverse, the Rock sits with Mushroom town. A town poised with the attributes of magic mushrooms that spurt out around the Rock due to its magical properties.
The last image below shows the Lekki Ikoyi link bridge located in Lagos Nigeria. The alternate reality version represents the Black bridge.
Using computer generated 3D applications, the Nigerian Architect is able to create digital worlds that spur emotional reactions.
Akinwale strongly believes that such digital worlds would become more immersive using advanced technology such as virtual & Augmented reality devices.
