Marlin Studios Releases Oriental Textures library
Company adds 20th product to line of textures and 3d models

Graphics studio and publisher Marlin Studios has announced the release of “Seamless Textures 11 - Great Textures of the Orient.” The product is the 20th in a series of highly useable textures and 3d model libraries created for use by 2D and 3D graphics artists. The texture maps can be used in virtually any computer graphics program.

Oriental textures in the library include building fronts, signs, statues, plants, doors, roofing, walls and windows. Also included are 971 stock photos.

The library's author, world-renown texture artist and photographer Geoff Holman, traveled to the Orient to capture the rich textures that exemplify that area. Geoff has previously created five best-selling Marlin Studios texture libraries.

According to company president Tom Marlin, the growing global economy is partly responsible for the creation of this texture library. “3D graphics has spread throughout the world, and Asian countries have become more prominent in the global marketplace. Eastern graphics studios are searching for high quality Asian culture textures, and the traditional Western studios have shown more interest in Asian cultures too.”

The library includes 473 seamlessly tileable textures and bump maps, along with 104 alpha maps -- all created from high quality photos. The textures are presented in three sizes: Large (approx. 2240 x 1680 pixels), Medium (66% of Large) and Small (33% of Large). The library also includes a thumbnail browser for conveniently searching the textures. The textures are presented in convenient JPG format and can be used on all major platforms: PC, Mac, Alpha, and Unix.
