Using AI to improve CG humans

In a recent interview published in September, our colleagues at AXYZ-design spoke with Francesco Testa from PROMPT. The focus was on the burgeoning influence of AI in the realm of architectural visualizations. Francesco delved deep into how AI is being harnessed to enhance the lifelikeness of CG humans in their artwork, pushing boundaries and setting a new benchmark for realism.

Of course, arch viz is not the only field where AI can improve digital humans: VFX and games can greatly benefit from the technology as it has the potential to streamline production while improving performance and the overall result.
Corridor Crew
Just last week, the Corridor Crew, a renowned YouTube channel, showcased a captivating analysis of this technological marvel within the gaming industry. Their demonstration highlighted the enhancement of already high-fidelity characters from leading triple-A games, including titles like "Horizon: Forbidden West" and "Uncharted 4."
Leveraging a software named Facemorph, the Corridor Crew added a fresh dimension of realism to these impeccable 3D models. The updated models retain all the facial gestures of the originals. Although there's room for refining mouth movements, the improvements are notable, particularly with the inclusion of features such as sub-surface scattering and delicate shadows.
For those keen to delve deeper, the full video by the Corridor Crew is available here:
