Picturing Gold for London
Press Release
Picturing Gold for London |
Appointed in August 2004 as lead image consultants, Smoothe has played a key role in delivering London’s vision for the 2012 Olympics.
London, UK, 19th November 2004 - Working with London 2012, EDAW, the LDA, Foreign Office Architects, HOK Sport and Allies and Morrison, Smoothe created a single voice for London’s bid through evocative imagery and film and is set to continue its work as the campaign progresses.
Matt Fairman, Managing director at Smoothe, says “Throughout the campaign our creative team has always maintained a genuine belief that we could make a significant difference to the bid’s chances and were thrilled when we learnt that Foreign Office Architects and EDAW were involved. Great architecture and a dynamic vision for both the Olympic and legacy stages will be key considerations in the bid’s decision making process. “
I am confident of London’s chances and would go so far as to say that at this stage London’s proposed vision is the strongest proposition on the table – I believe that the team has got things just right in terms of balancing progressive architecture with intelligent landscaping, and will catch the eye of the IOC.”
