Chaos releases V-Ray 6 for 3ds Max, update 2

Chaos has announced the second update to their popular renderer, V-Ray 6 for 3ds Max. On their page, Chaos details the new features of V-Ray 6 for 3ds Max, emphasizing improvements in connectivity, workflow, GPU rendering, scattering control, and post-processing enhancements:

  1. Connectivity and Collaboration: It introduces seamless data transfer between Enscape and V-Ray, enhancing productivity and collaboration. This feature enables the fine-tuning of real-time designs into high-end visualizations, preserving design continuity from concept to final render.
  2. MaterialX and USD Support: V-Ray 6 now supports MaterialX, allowing the rendering and exchange of shaders across different digital content creation tools, and enhanced USD support for the latest version of Autodesk 3ds Max, benefiting from its functionalities and performance improvements.
  3. Workflow Enhancements: The update includes a one-click submit feature for Chaos Cloud rendering and up to 20x faster .vrscene exports, significantly speeding up complex scene processing.
  4. GPU Rendering Capabilities: V-Ray GPU's capabilities are expanded with features like V-Ray Enmesh for tiling 3D geometry patterns and faster rendering of animation sequences, offering up to 4x speed improvement.
  5. More Scattering Control: New options in Chaos Scatter allow for more realistic scatters with groups hierarchy, altitude control, and orientation adjustment for scattered items.
  6. Post-Processing Features: The VFB (V-Ray Frame Buffer) introduces chromatic aberration post-effects and the option to choose a custom background color for your renders, enhancing the final image quality.
  7. Additional Features: The update includes Chaos Cosmos IES Lights for faster interior illumination and improvements to the VRayUVWRandomizer for enhanced randomness and variation in textures.

These updates collectively aim to streamline the workflow, enhance collaborative efforts, and provide more control and speed in rendering processes, making V-Ray 6 a comprehensive tool for architects and VFX artists.
