Press Release
3D World launches new architectural visualisation supplement |
3D World has launched its second dedicated architectual supplement. The supplement will be available free with issue 93 of the magazine, on sale from 19 June. Single issues can be ordered online via www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk.
The 44-page guide kicks off with case studies of four of the most exciting new visualisation projects: Neoscape’s MTV-inspired work for the L5 Las Vegas development; Tangram 3DS’s civic building for a Native American nation; Placebo Effects’ award-winning hi-tech concepts for Norway’s Risor Hotel; and Desighive’s stunning visualisations for a huge new redevelopment project in the heart of Birmingham, UK.
In the lead article, CGArchitect.com president Jeff Mottle examines the way in which visualisation professionals are beginning to embrace techniques from the broadcast and film industries to create work with even more dynamic impact; while True Dimensional Studios founder Chris Bullen provides a four-page masterclass on harnessing photon mapping and Final Gather in mental ray 3.5 to create photorealistic interior renders.
The supplement also includes a 12-page showcase of the best in exterior and interior visualisation work around the world, with contributions from up-and-coming artists alongside some of the most respected studios in the business. To close, FlamingCGI MD Craig McDonald looks back on the studio’s role in bringing the work of five different architectural firms to life in a visualisation for the King of Saudi Arabia.
