I think the architecture/design is in good shape. It is the atmosphere that defines the room. You can look for some references online about ballrooms (google images). It will give you an idea of how the look and feel to be in a ballrooms look like. Usually, if it's a dining room, lights should focus on where the activities happen such as the dining tables and floor area. Ceiling and wall lights are accent light, not primary. The main lights can come from spotlghts shine down at each table or candle lights. Those lights sources should be a warm orange tone. After starting with that, you can add accent lights from the chandlier, ceiling lights, etc. These light are secondary so they should not be as bright as the primary lights on table. You can then give it a cold blue tone to compliment the warm orange light you have for the main light source.
And finally, adding people enjoy the space and funtion in the dining tables would also help to add to the story.
Hope this will help a bit.

Well. it would be great if you could be more specific about the dinning room issue. :D
I need to work on it. I really needed a suggestion. I knew something went wrong but could not solve it myself.
So, please help :)

I hope the client was okay with their ballroom turned to a dining room. :)
Nice work on details and shaders!
The lighting could be more dramatic though. Right now, it's looking very flat from foreground to background, left to right, there is no focal point. I think the room needs an intimate mood, cozy soft warm light instead of white cold light.
The floor texture is getting blurry further away. Decrease the blur to 0.01 in the texture map option will fix it.
