Storasula A46 is a personal archviz project made with 3ds Max® and Unreal Engine® 4.25.
The greatest challenge I have faced during the development of the project was, apart from the composition of the wholse scene, producing high quality and non-repetitive wood textures inside the cabin as well as maintaining a decent FPS rate (on quite a humble hardware setup I had at the moment) while filling the landscape with such a high number of trees and a dense and detailed grass, as I wanted to represent the "hugeness" of nature in contrast to the small size of such a tiny, cosy and warm cabin.
I used megascans materials as well as many custom textures I made on my own using Quixel Mixer and/or Photoshop. Some assets were also textured using Substance Painter. Cloth simulation for the sofa and bed was made using Marvelous Designer. Wood planks were modelled with FloorGenerator plugin.
The project is not only formed by still images and cinematic animation, but also an interactive videogame-like real time experience.
