The area where the project is located is uniformly presented as a hilly landscape with natural undulations along the river. The design takes advantage of the different eleva-
tions on both sides of the river to transform the difference in elevation into a new experience of crossing the river. The design also integrates the regional landscape system
through the fitting of three-way paths on both sides of the river, advocating a physically related empathy that directly evokes people's inner resonance for playing in the
wigwam and their curiosity for exploring the trails.
The rhythmic forms of the bridge twist and interconnect to form a multi-layered flow space, geometrically integrated in the spiral structure of the Terasaki ramp', reinforcing
the experience of this otherworldly place and further detailing the aesthetic character of the Pirouette's rotation. In order to achieve the best performance of the structural
system, genetic algorithms were used to optimise the structure, and the columns at the centre of the bridge were designed in the shape of a vortex, which not only balances
the overall bridge forces, but also creates an expressive negative space.
