We were commissioned by the architects DeRoché Strohmayer to produce architectural visualisations for the Labadi Arts Campus in Accra, Ghana. Situated on Third Kaadjano Street, this innovative project is designed to serve the local community by offering versatile spaces for workshops, lectures, and creative studios.
The campus consists of several volumes of varying heights, arranged to maximise the use of inner spaces for educational and creative purposes. These volumes create multiple courtyards, seamlessly connecting interior and exterior spaces. The design incorporates new vegetation and preserves existing trees, ensuring harmony with the natural environment.
The facilities include various pavilions, studios, and recreational areas, supporting a wide range of artistic and educational activities. Thoughtfully designed landscapes complement the overall aesthetic and functionality of the site.
The facades feature Dahoma wood and concrete walls with raffia formwork, blending traditional and contemporary elements. These materials enhance the visual appeal of the buildings while ensuring durability. A standout feature is the rooftop terrace, offering stunning sea views and envisioned for activities such as outdoor classes and exhibitions.
The Labadi Arts Campus aims to inspire creativity and foster community engagement through thoughtful design and strategic planning, creating a space where education, art, and community converge in harmony.
