This image formed the centre piece hero shot for a series depicting the clients design within the fabric of Tokyo. It was a challenging project that needed special attention to the way that the design integrated with the city. As no suitable aerial photography was available a basic 3D model of Tokyo was used as a starting point and then heavily developed.
The stadium itself was illustrated to the clients specification with the team at Minmud going to extra lengths to incorporate as much detail as possible in the limited time available.
The clients design was chosen by a panel chaired by Tadao Ando and including Norman Foster and Richard Rogers. The images were used worldwide in publications such as The Guardian, The Huffington Post, AJ and BD Magazine.
The stadium is to be completed for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
