GreenHaus is a collection of spaces focused on life in harmony with the natural forces around us, while maintaining low expenses throughout the whole life-cycle of the building. It doesn't only represent an alternative house design project, but an optimistic view into the near future. Passive solar principles are utilized in order to meet most of the energy demands, complemented by a low-tech wood-fired masonry stove. These principles are further enhanced by a unique wall design, which combines Trombe wall and solar slab into one system, pre-heating the air without any mechanical elements, and so enabling all external components to actively contribute to solar gains. House is equipped with a water and air filtration systems, and food can be grown locally in the greenhouse, designed as an integral part of the structure. This interior garden is dramatically improving quality of life, not only producing food but also improving well-being of the inhabitants. Materials were selected based on the optimal ratio between factors like durability, affordability, accessibility and low carbon emissions.
