Aesthetica + Snøhetta: Knubben

Snohetta design for Knubben, a new magnificent platform in the middle of the fjord in Arendal, Norway. The architects designed this new island drawing inspiration from the lines of a map, following the shape of the Norwegian coastline. A simple drone shot, full of rich and vivid details to portray nature and man-made structure.

CGI Artworks by James Lawley Studio in collaboration with Matt Williams.

Designed to create a pair of contemporary dwellings which are referential to the vernacular but also address the issues presented by the climate emergency.

By embedding a cluster of simple blackened huts nestled into the dunes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the aim is to create an architectural response that is ambitious yet modest : a design that is both contemporary and timeless.

Earth has always been destroyed by human activity. Humans have only been extravagant and rooted in an idea. Natural melting and extinction will be a hardware problem for all humans living on the planet. Hence, we have to influence revenue control in the current context of our industrial activity.

Hi all!

Hope you are doing great despite these trying times…

I would like to share with you my new personal project “ The Orangery”, I worked on during the weekend.

Years ago, I was lucky enough to spend a 2-day Christmas party at Aynhoe Park, an incredible Grade I listed 17th-century country house in Oxfordshire.

More specifically Aynhoe Park is an unusual country house where the extraordinary happens…A place to withdraw from this world and discover a new one…somewhere with a surprise behind every door and curiosity around every corner…

Each room is unique and filled with unrivaled art and curiosities. Among these original spaces, the orangery in particular caught my attention because of its particular atmosphere and the abundance of light coming from its huge windows.
