We were honoured to have been approached by an esteemed architectural team to produce the visual representations for their entry into the Masai Mara Conservation Centre Competition. This international design contest, overseen by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and supported by Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy, sought an innovative and culturally integrated design for a new conservation centre at the Oloololo Gate of the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.
The competition aimed to create a centre that would not only educate and inspire visitors about conservation and the biodiversity of the Masai Mara but also embody sustainable design principles. The project envisioned a 485-square-metre facility that blended modern architectural elements with traditional Maasai cultural motifs, utilising eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient technologies.
TMD was entrusted with creating the architectural visualisations that brought this vision to life. Our work involved rendering detailed and realistic images that showcased the proposed design within its natural context, emphasising the seamless integration of the structure with the surrounding landscape. These visualisations highlighted key aspects of the design, such as the viewing platforms, and the environmentally conscious features that were central to the project’s philosophy.
Our visuals aimed to capture the essence of the architect’s proposal, illustrating how the centre would serve as a beacon of sustainable tourism and conservation education. Through our collaboration, we provided a compelling visual narrative that supported the architect’s innovative approach and helped communicate their vision to the competition judges and the broader public.
