„One Day” is a short movie, which I have the pleasure of preparing for famous Polish architectural office Jems Architekci. The owners of that office made me a proposal of creating a short spot on the occasion of 25th jubilee of their office existence. From the day of that talk to the date of the ceremony there was only one month, therefore I offered that this movie should present how this house of design functions during one day. In connection with that idea, for the four days long term I have been living with my team in architects’ office block which is located by the Gagarin Street. We have been working there all days and nights having an access to every nook and cranny of their studio and the whole atelier. This task was a really big challenge in the field of logistics, organising the set in so little time and then moving all of necessary equipment at the right place. The main obstacle was the time, especially because material was coming into being in winter and the night began to fall even before the day had begun. Thus we had to start our work about five, six a.m. and in a hurry put out equipment. I planned many time-lapses, most of which we were making for long hours, what allowed our three reflexes cameras to work almost at the same time in different locations. The weather appeared to be also quite a big obstacle. During four days of making the movie at the end of November not even once the Sun shined or even an attractive look like clouds did not appeared. Instead of them Mother Nature offered us a thick, milky suspension with a little rain from time to time. In this circumstances our movie got a big dose of laborious corrections in a postproduction process.
