The vision of a resort on Portugal’s south coast, as created by Kengo Kuma & Associates and OODA, takes cues from the natural and cultural heritage of the region. The finalist proposal evokes Algarve’s fossil cliffs and the Arabic architectural characteristics with the aim of building a narrative about living in harmony with our surroundings. In accentuating this concept, we opted for views and light settings that make the stratified buildings blend into the environment, suggesting they have sprouted straight from the ground.
