FourDimensions - http://www.fourdimensions.co.uk
Hi all,
I have recently completed a small project which was used mainly to showcase a couple of new bits of furniture I modelled for a bigger project (which this scene is actually a part of). I actually ended up using a fair few new techniques which I came up with over the previous few weeks. I actually completed the project in one day from start to finish.
One of the aims of the project was to avoid as much post as possible (a little test of my own ability to produce images that came straight of V-Ray with no need for further adjustment). In the end all that was done was to add a VERY subtle curve correction. All other effects were done in V-Ray i.e. DOF, lens effects and so on.
I also wanted to test out how actual (modelled) studio lighting would work within a scene. It actually turned out really well although getting the materials correct (in order to reflect light correctly etc) required a bit of trial and error. Using this method seems to yield pretty realistic lighting, so of course I'm very happy with it.
The idea behind the images was to bring motion to an otherwise static scene, that's where the idea of 'chaos' (and the blustery paper) came from.
All of the models are my own, textures were mostly created from CG-Textures.
I used Max, Vray and PS.
Hope you like it. - You can see a higher res version on my blog www.fourdimensions.co.uk.
Thanks,
Tom.
