A research center essentially is a place where a person needs meditative spaces for intensive research, tests and experiments. It is in-fact a space for increasing the knowledge one has. In that sense, the MECHANICAL HILL is a metaphor that exhibits the idea of all the hardships one goes through during the research works just like the hardships one needs to encounter while climbing a hill and also evokes the idea of clarity one gets through research just as one gets to the top of hill. The climb to the top of the hill is full of struggles similar to the rise of a researcher’s knowledge from the multiple tests and experiments to successful outcomes. The form of the building portrays exactly that. The visual clarity that a person experiences with the increase in knowledge through research can clearly be attributed to the openness of the building as a person reaches on higher levels of the building.
