Hey there,
Thanks for your comments. You're right about it sticking out. I'd have to say that I'm not sure the Architect has that much of a goal as you mentioned though. He originally sent me this CADD rendering and asked me to photoshop it to make it look 'nicer'. I replied, 'send me the plans.'

The image I posted actually is my second version. In the first I mistakenly made the pavement asphalt and the median more grass. The project manager dictated that is was to be all the same concrete, 'we don't want them to think they are getting more than the basics'. He also gave me the design for the guardrail. But I think I will try and make the different parts of the concrete look different. And, of course, there is no reason I can't follow your suggestions for my own portfolio.
Thanks for the feedback,

Kevin,
Is it the goal of this work to show the seamless integration of the bridge into the landscape? Right now it sticks out like a sore thumb. The flat gray color of the bridge bothers me and i lose the definition of the median as it runs across the bridge. Perhaps some color embellishments? A different guardrail perhaps? Color the bridge paving as you would the adjacent streets but make it pop. The plantings and surrounding areas are modeled and rendered nicely. A few more cars wouldn't hurt. HTH
