I would add a bump map to the floor. And possiblly add more misc object to add more interest to the scene.
The base of the coffee table seems a little big or maybe its just the angle.
Also try turning the gamma on if it is not already to bring out more color from the exterior

Aside from what has already be mentioned I would tone down the ambient occlusion. It's a little to obvious, especially in the corners.

A really good start, I for one would suggest adding a bump map to your floor to give it a bit more outline.

Yes, it really is a second attempt. I'm just starting to learn viz and my first attempt was a kitchen I posted here a couple of months ago. It was actually pitiful - but after some work in lighting ended up a half-way decent piece.
You are right. I'll work on adding DOF see what it looks like.
As for the door material- are you talking about the glass door to the balcony or the wood doors on the entertainment center?

Very nice for second try (: maybe you should use DOF to make it more photorealistic.The material of the door,need more reflection,but still nice ;)
