the sky is bright, but the trees r too dark

I looked for reference images and found lots like this, almost sunset, with the sun behind the scene, and beeing surrounded by lots of trees, so it's dark. That's what I intended to do at least.

Hardware? Or you mean software? I used 3ds max 2011 with vray, and post in photoshop. But it's still a WIP.

Heys guys! I've been learning 3ds max for the past month or so, till then I was a softimage user. This is my second attempt in 3ds, my 1st exterior scene. I came up with this, and i wanted to improve more. What do you think of it? Render time was 1h12m and is not in full quality, because the pc crashed -_-' thanks in avance for your help! ^^

Hey Andrew thanks for your reply! You're right, I'll take a look at the RWP's, the rocks have to be lifted a bit for the reflexions to happear. Will try to make some external reflexion on the windows too, but with so much lighting inside dunno if that's possible as the windows are a 100% refractive. And I'll do something on the 1st floor. What do you think about the water of the lake? I don't feel it's right. It's strange i guess... Again thanks for your help! ^^

Looking nice, have a look at your RWP's as they look extremely shiny and really stand out in th render, also your rocks in the water look a bit fake, no reflection in the water. Interior looks nice, may be a bit of external reflection on the glass. Upper windows dont work for me though blinds look dirty and lighting behind does not match up to the lighting downstairs.
