Thanks Curtis,
Yes, this is in-render DOF. I never use anything else for stills (unlike for animations).
Physical DOF is expensive indeed but it is accurate and the extra render time is bearable when doing stills. And sometimes (lots of opacity maps, lots of glass, lots of sharp reflections), it is the only possible way to do DOF.

Honestly Bertrand, between you and Peter Guthrie I feel like i should just give up, haha. Great atmosphere, they just feel so natural.
I have been experimenting with Depth of Field lately. From the looks of it you do your DOF in render, yes? I was curious as to your render times and resolutions. From my own experiments the quallity of DOF is excellent but at a substantial render time hit and this is at relatively low resolutions (2000x3000). Yours is consistently superb and i was just wondering how your render times stack up with it.
Thanks again for sharing your wonderful work, look forward to the next one.

Thanks guys.
Sconlogue: Yes, I used depth fog in the dusk renders. For the daylight renders, I used a Vray Environment Fog pass. It was calculated with a black override material on all objects and lower render settings than the beauty pass and composited on the final render with further tweaks.
Sixthlaw: It really depends. I mainly use my own textures for things ranging from concrete and plaster to leather, bark and leaves. The textures on my furniture models are almost always handpainted. For the floors, I tend to use either my own stuff or commercial textures from CGSource, which I use either with the Multitextures plugin or, in this particular case, with the now sadly defunct Brix. I also use Arroway's textures quite extensively but rarely without modifications.

This is amazing work! One thing I love about your work is how great the textures are. Are there texture packs you have purchased? could we have some names?:)

Amazing work as always Bertrand!!! I particularly like the after dusk shots. The blue exterior light contrasted with the warm interior is as natural as it gets! Great foliage work as well! It looks like you're using Depth fog in some of those?
