As per Greek mythology, Arkadia is an untouched wilderness inhabited by the god of the forest and his retinue of dryads, nymphs, and other nature spirits. Although it was considered a type of paradise, it only referred to it being the dwelling place of supernatural beings, rather than a realm for departed souls.
