‘20-Minute Neighbourhood’ is an urban planning concept where residents can meet their daily needs within a 20-minute return walk from home. Unsigned Studio created a series of ‘before’ images based on iconic — but outdated — urban typologies. These correspond with ‘after’ images which show how these typologies could function when optimised for human use. Through an iterative process of design development and client feedback, Unsigned created these environments from scratch before giving them a ‘20-Minute friendly’ makeover. The resulting before/after images capture the public’s imagination by providing a glimpse into the amenities that Melbourne’s future neighbourhoods will hold
