Its location is the Hill of Santa Catalina, balcony to the Cantabrian Sea, the highest part of the Gijón city, defensive bastion turned zone of relaxation, from where great part of the city and harbour is contemplated.
It reaches ten meters of height and weight 500 tons. It is made in reinforced concrete from two pillars that act as supports of an open ellipse.
Initiated the works in 1989 it was unveiled the 9 of June of 1990.
