beautiful work
amazing work man ... love it
Fantastic work. Can you say something about the render engine? You used only the internal maya renderer or maybe something else? Any postpro there? Take care Simon
Thanks a lot Simon. Yes, of course. I used Mental Ray from within Maya for the renders, rather than the maya software renderer. The scene was lit with Physical Sun and Sky, portal lights, FG and GI. Then yes, there was a bit of post too. The usual tweaks to colour balance, contrast, exposures etc plus the DOF was done in post. The Zdepth channel was also used to generate a bit of fog/atmospherics and also to paint light in at specific depths in the image (eg behind the stair screen). Thanks for looking!

Thanks again guys. Yeah, lighting was the main focus for for me on this along with exploring composition. Glad you like the Giacometti! I was finding it tricky to find sculptures that weren't cheesy and had the right mood, so ended up modelling these from photos. Wanted to try some displacement mapping on them to get the surface detail but ran out of time ...

Very professional work. Excellent
Great attention to details, and very successful use of DOF! I think the design needs a bold element here and there... to break the calmness. love the Giacommetti btw =) I'm a big fan of his work!
Thanks very much for the positive feedback! Glad you like them. I should have a couple more personal projects finished in the next few months ...
