The overall feel for this space is the best I have seen in a while...the grain works well with the diffuse lighting and the whole ambience. I really like the fiberglass mat on the eames'. Great job.

hello everyone!

this one started out as a last-minute christmas/new-years postcard i created within a day a few days before christmas after - you can see the original image at our website :

I always wanted to do an interior scene with very diffuse lighting as this worked
out quite well in my tugendhat-exterior shots. after some heavy inspiration through the new home of my xoio-fellows peter & bettina and the tribeca-loft pictures of bertrandb i decided to not only leave it as a christmas-piece as the scene had some potiential. it is a lose interpretation of a converted factory space in renwick-street, manhattan,designed by fernlund+logan architects.

all models except for the flowers have been modelled in-house at xoio over the last year and have been used or where thought to be used at comissioned projects we did.
so credtis go to katrin for the book-shelf and the fruit-basket, to gregor for the elk-head and the lamps - the dax-chairs and the picture-frame have been modelled by peter.
the plywood chair, the sofa, the kitchen, the wegner-chairs and the carpets and the space itself have been made exclusivley for this project :)

I did some experiments with rendered DOF, as i hardly used it before because of long rendertimes which i am always afraid of - but it worked out quite well a subtle DOF gives the image nive depth i think...

the dog in one picture is my french bulldog monsieur - he is my compagnon for almost 6 years, always sleeps under my desk and helps with a subtle snorring-sound to stay calm
so i pay tribute to him with the "dog-integration" :)
