Hi, nope, at time of this render I didn't know about such solution, so this is single-pass render ( I can't even use other passes except for alpha).
What you are suggesting seems to be the best approach though, Peter Guthrie seems to use it in same fashion.
I should also note the the fog doesn't use GI, the times jump horribly high, so I've read at vray manual that the emmission set to white should do the same job. I don't know if the visual difference would be big. There also isn't any gizmo attached, but I saw professional use it, and cutout place where building is located so it isn't affected by fog. Not sure how accurate it looks then though..I would say not much realistic, but people don't like fog over buildings.

awesome render, I like the other redners in your website too. Perfect composition and lighting... fog and volume light comes perfectly not touching the front of the bulding which is in focus. I would like to ask how did you you do the volume light - atmosphere pass applied in PS or another method ?

Loved that first image. I really liked the way the ground form worked with the perspective of the image.

I agree, it's my continual experimentation with Vray Fog that I am unable to get correct results with.
I am waiting patiently for Peter Guthrie's secrets :- D

Nice image, good textures, lighting and composition,
although, I'd see a version of this image with less fog in the background.

Haha thank you then.
I always want to model a new one each time I see it somewhere too, esp. while browsing Archdaily or Architizer :- )

Very nice atmospheric image. No reason to consider a forest house outdated, I think I want to model one right away, seeing this :)
