Not sure if this still happens but when I first started in architecture I worked in a small firm that did a lot of residential. It was common that our marketing photography was shot when the sidewalk and streets were wet. This was done to enhance the color, saturation, and depth of the photograph.
I could be wrong but I believe the photographer often had the house / property hosed down in order to get this look. I am pretty sure that would be frowned on today.
I wonder if this was considered a cop out by other photographers?

Yep, there is still spots of snow on the ground around here!!
Guys thanks for the comments for improvement.
This "mood"rendering did accompany the typical day shot as well that I did not post, so I typically try to do something a little different on a second image when possible. IF there is only budgeted for one rendering, I agree, mood shots are not always the answer. BUT, If all I get to do is blue sky day shots, this type of work can get old really fast, so I try to keep it interesting and challenging. Thanks. Eric

Yeah, why is it raining? This is North Dakota - the building should be completely buried in snow!! :)
I do like mood shots - but not for proposals...
Also, the car on the right is leading your eye off the frame. Consider having them drive ONTO the frame to keep your eye from wondering off. Lastly, the trees along the building seem too bright/exposed. Consider saturating them and taking the brightness down?
Nice work though.

The cars seem to have a more cooler tone compared to the rest of the image, which I find a bit distracting.
Other then that I really like it.

Why is it raining? I can see it as fun for an exercise but I'm not sure that's how I would want to try and sell anyone on the project or the design.
Raining or not (though especially when its raining) it looks odd to have the cars on the far end of the parking lot, so far from the entrance.
