Mindness
The Snail Apartments is a 10-storey building, located in Chelsey. The project combines the architectural components from the two neighborhoods. Old New York housing and contemporary glass skyscrapers, creating a complex that both adapts to its surroundings and contributes by adding new distinctive architecture. Beside saving unique traditional architectural style of the city, one of the main concept of the project was to unit different social types of residents.

I created this image as part of a personal project for the YAC competition, which required participants to design a new train station in Xi’an China. The image was conceived after extensive research into the City of Xi’an and its rich historical and architectural heritage.

The Dome concept for the train station derived from Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s bronze chariot and in particular the circular bronze parasol that protected the driver from the elements. The bronze chariot was discovered about 20 meters west of the mound of Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum. Secondary elements like the arches represent shapes found in traditional Chines architecture.

The project won third place and will be presented on the 6th of March in Milan. The project was modeled and textured in 3ds Max, Rendered in V-Ray. The image was also accepted as a finalist in the Architizer one rendering challenge. Architecture designed and rendered by Daniel Szalapski.

The third replication challenge has involved one of London's newest and most interesting architecture, the Newport Street Gallery designer by Caruso St John Architects and captured by Jesús Granada for El Croquis magazine.
The interpretation of natural ambient light is a key point to reproduce the dramatic effect generated within the room.
We used 3DS Max + Vray + Photoshop.

This image is about an existing building, WoZoCo housing in Amsterdam, by MVRDV. I decided to portray this building with a foggy atmosphere, in a wintry morning. This mood helped enhancing the beautiful colored balconies and the jutting wooden blocks that make this building so unique. Fog also helps to soften or remove the unnecessary colors coming from the surrounding in order to drive the focus just on selected spots.
