A model for a concept located in Baiyu Village, Yutang Town with about 455 acres of land. Because the project called for many identical building types, the model was created using 5+design's in-house 3D printer. Its façade was later painted to mimic the look of wood.

5+design played up elements from nature in novel ways to create warm, relaxed public spaces between the many international flagship stores. In the Sky Court, jewel-colored pendants cascade from the enormous skylight, casting ever-changing patterns of sun and shadow.

In the Water Court, the refreshing sound of rain fills the air as water showers from the ceiling, through rings of neon and stainless steel and into a reflecting pool. The Garden Court provides a botanical escape with greenery growing under the clerestory windows and floor tiles sprouting images of ornamental grasses and shrubs. And the Light Court offers a cluster of whimsically oversized lanterns to brighten the mood.

Inspired by the modern Mediterranean-style neighborhoods of Southern California as well as the ancient hill towns of Italy, 5+design designed the Luxehills' masterplan with shops, cafes and galleries that line a series of winding streets. Stairs and ramps leading from a placid lagoon to the top of the hill are located near a lushly landscaped plaza that affords breathtaking views.

Materials such as local stone, stucco and tile are used to create a sense of rustic authenticity while the architecture is organized in an organic fashion that follows the natural contours of the land.

5+design set out to reestablish the connection of forest, city and ocean as mirrored in the site’s alignment between the Wutong Mountain peak, the existing government building and Mirs Bay. Vanke One City will bring contemporary retail and living amenities to the region, with an activated park that engages visitors with the surrounding natural landscape.

This model depicts 5+design’s master plan of DIFC that calls for an indoor-outdoor town center with water features, an open-air plaza, a cineplex and a live-performance theater. 5+design is restructuring the retail storefronts, landscaping, signage and lighting to create an inviting, sophisticated backdrop for the cosmopolitan urban neighborhood in Dubai.

5+design’s vision for the project was inspired by Dongguan’s natural surroundings, namely Huangqi Mountain and, at its peak, the lantern commemorating the spot where the legendary glow of fireflies around a banyan tree guided fishermen home from the sea.

The beginning of 5+design's tower foundation is underway with much more to go.

5+design will be re-envisioning the DIFC master plan for the 10 million square feet still to be developed. Crucial to the revamped design is the 1.5-kilometer-long corridor linking one end of the district to the other and all of the buildings in between via three separate levels: A tunnel for service vehicles will lie under the surface roadway; an air-conditioned indoor retail concourse will stretch above the roadway; and a park-like promenade will top the retail concourse. Escalators and bridges will offer quick access between levels and connect to nearby streets and two elevated light rail stations.
