3D Printing Enthusiast
I am fascinated by architecture. I also love 3D printing. I think a lot about the intersection between the two and how 3D printers will change the way that we live. 3D printers promise cheap homes that are completely customizable. A home in Sweden was printed in a day and it's fully functional. 3D printers are placed on tracks over top of the home and the printer can apply cement and other materials in a preprogrammed manner. This will bring down the cost of building considerably.
The technology around 3D printing is changing fast. Printers have become extremely powerful just since 2013. Prior to 2013, 3D printers were expensive and there was not a lot of innovation going on. Competition between Makerbot and 3DSystems has lead to a boon in 3D printing technology.
