The recreational house is situated in the urban-rural setting of the highest mountain in the Podkrkonoší region. Its barn-like appearance seamlessly integrates with the surrounding landscape. The house is designed with axial symmetry, which is evident in both the layout and façades. The architectural surface features a distinctive wooden façade, where the ground floor is clad in horizontally arranged timber slats, contrasting with the vertically oriented slats on the upper floor. This differentiation not only adds visual interest but also emphasises the structure’s symmetry and modern aesthetic. A key element of the design is the array of solar panels installed on the roof, enabling the house to operate off-grid. This passive house is designed to maximise energy efficiency, utilising high-performance insulation and strategic window placement to reduce heating and cooling demands. Water management is thoughtfully integrated into the design, with systems for rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling, ensuring the sustainable use of water resources. The biotope with a pond at the bottom of the plot not only enhances the ecological value of the site but also provides an additional recreational space, perfectly integrated into the existing topography. Surrounded by meadows and existing vegetation, the house makes use of all available areas of the land, allowing clients to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the surrounding scenery.
