Behind the winning proposal Arpeggio is Danish Dissing + Weitling together with Swedish Tenjin Visual, ELU and Ljusarkitektur, German Lenonhardt Andrä und Partner.
The new bridge will stand at least 120 years and will connect the people on each side of the river Göta Älv in Gothenburg.
A bridge that will be a landmark and a symbol of Gothenburg and the city 's future.
The competing teams had a few limitations: the bridge must be twelve feet high, 30 feet wide , openable,
accommodate a route for vessel traffic and to be associated with slip roads in Gullbergsvass and Ringön .
The maximum cost for the bridge could not exceed one billion SEK and has to be finished for the opening ceremony in 2020.
The world 's top architectural firms have been invited in prequalification.
Five teams were selected to compete for the design of the new bridge:
