Functioning both as an in-house R&D project and an homage to Collective director Chris's love of Padel, this project was intended to expand our animation skills and increase our capabilities in real-time rendering with Unreal Engine.
Many assets were created from scratch along with utilising extensive libraries from Poliigon, Maxtree, Megascans and Anima before we set our sights on animating our Padel players using motion capture data from Rokoko studio and some good old-fashioned hand-keyframing.
Once exported to Unreal Engine we were able to create our lighting setup and add cameras then polish everything off with some post-processing effects. After spending a little bit of time building the lighting we were able to export 4k animation frames in a matter of minutes. Truly the best thing about using Real-Time Rendering!
