Jorjick House
The sum for the project is 35,700,000 TZS and includes simple DIY furniture building kits using locally produced materials such as softwood timber, where anyone can become part of the building journey. The whole project can be built in a maximum period of 90 days. The Jorejick house is designed to tackle the issue of lighting and air conditioning counter beating sun. With 2.5m room height windows which can have their shutters adjusted to control lighting and fold-able doors with shade netting which can allow breeze to enter, and prevent insects, a simple fitting which is applied to all buildings. It’s using natural sustainability methods accompanied with a rainwater harvesting system with x2 2500L tanks next to the kitchen, x2 1000L next to the showers and waste collection ports for soil fertilization.
