So here’s another rendering I’ve been working on recently in my spare time. I’m trying to get used to using VRay and Sketchup – and I am loving the change from Maxwell Renderer. I used this tutorial as a starting point: http://www.ronenbekerman.com/making-vray-sketchup-winning-3d-interior-render-asgvis/ as it had some great tips on interior render settings and lighting to get that soft dappled glow that I’ve used in my image. I got inspiration for the stair/wall/drinks combo from the Houzz iPhone App.
One of the nice things I did with this render is quite a lot of photoshop post-production, where I added the lineart exported directly from SketchUp to give an abstract, almost sketchy look to the piece – especially when it comes to the background and distant objects.
