In this complex project, our senior 3D artist Andrii wanted to show how a building can interact with its surroundings, evoking strong emotions with the viewers. He decided that this building must be a church — as it is initially emotionally charged and make people think about the depth and beauty of life. After considering the designs of three splendid churches, he chose the fascinating Tromsdalen Church in Norway to visualize his idea.
The artist's vision implied showing the building not in its real city environment but in the setting of magnificent Norwegian nature. So, Andrii created a realistic 3D model of a church and combined it with a photo of Norwegian landscapes. To achieve the breathtaking effect of the ‘God light’, the artist took much effort to set the lighting in the scene. He also used many special techniques, post-production effects, and added the right contextual elements to the images to make sure that they take the viewers’ breath away.
