Scallion conceptual IDEA
The story is coexisting between a Scallion Plant near by the coast
line which spreads its roots into the sea in order to feed itself. The main frame places the residential area the roots provide the main circulation within the green island and a Yacht club.
Aerodynamics
Aerodynamic facts were considered in Scallion main frame by curving the main body into an airfoil shaped surface facing toward the sea which decreases significantly the stresses induced by the wind.
Special Features regarding environment-friendly energy sources
1- Wind Turbine
There is a high performance wind turbine, capable of generating almost 1500 kWh of clean energy by converging the air stream inside a 3380 sq. ft wind gate placed at the top of the tower.
The wind turbine has 2 three-bladed rotors rotating in opposite directions in order to increase the performance.
2- RED Solar shaded balcony
There are 30 high performance solar panel surfaces surrounding the
main transparent core and connected to the main frame, capable of generating nearly 1400 kWh of electricity from 9 A.M to 15 P.M (peak time).
3- Solar water heater
There is a solar water heater placed at the top of the wind gate to
prepare enough hot water for showers and other purposes.
4- Rainwater harvesting system
All red solar surfaces are able to harvest the rainwater and directing it to the specified piping systems and storage areas in each floor for Irrigation and other purposes.
Special facilities
Dual function pool and helicopter pad
The pool on the roof can be used also as a helipad within 2 minutes by elevating the bottom surface using three hydraulic jacks.
Sewage purification unit
A purification unit below the parking level for analyses the Sewage and filters Chemical and harmful substances and natural-harmless waste. The CH4 gas can also be directed thought the gas piping network for residential use.
Garbage disposal unit
Scallion tower has a modern waste disposal unit which is able to divide
and pack the garbage for easy disposal.
Yacht club
At the end of the big root is a luxurious hotel and facilities for Boat berthing.
Silent Island
At the other end of the root is a natural and quite sea resort designed for relaxing and enjoying the landscapes.
