[FONT=Lucida Sans][FONT=Verdana][SIZE=2]Commander Gika, located in Luanda, with 345,000 m2 is one of the biggest real estate projects on the African continent, comprising a shopping mall, a five star hotel, two office towers and two towers of luxury housing.
The ID3D working on this project since 2006, giving full support to the Portuguese Studio Oscar Santos Architects, from initial architecture stage to final decoration and promotion.
Throughout the project were used Autocad and 3DS Max for modelling, Photoshop and Combustion for compositing and image editing, and VRay as rendering engine.
The biggest challenge we faced was the large amount of information that we deal with, getting to have files with 70 million polygons. The intensive use of the VRay Proxy's was essential because the amount of vegetation, vehicles, furniture and decorative objects.[/SIZE][/FONT][/FONT]
[FONT=Lucida Sans][FONT=Verdana][SIZE=2]The possibility of using multipass elements was essential to have greater control over the final composition and to better manage our renderfarm. Were made over than 1500 test images and more than 120 final images.
As most of our jobs are short duration, this is a special project because of its extent in time and scale, as well as the constant changes and refinements that the spaces will suffer during the different phases of the project.
