He didn’t know if it would succeed, but in a city where every choice was made for him, this act of rebellion felt monumental.
The child, still unmoving, whispered into the rain, "Do it for all of us."
As he crossed the threshold into the Nexus Tower, the rain seemed to falter for just a moment, as if the city itself held its breath.
