This image was worked on by myself and Chris Little. We worked on this for about a week and a half. We took an existing model of a street scene we already had, but modified it significantly. Most of the detailed modelling, textures, and Photoshop you see here were done for CG awards competition. We used 3ds Max, Vray, and Photoshop. Please feel welcome to give feedback.

$Stylized version of a little modern house I did. I was exploring new techniques for making rock walls, and grass scatters. For the rock wall I used a fracture script, and then just applied a "material by element" modifier with a few different materials.$

Everything here is modeled, or scattered using multiscatter. The trees in the foreground are made with the help of Onyx, and multiscatter again. I made some of the plants from scratch and others are purchased. I tried to spend a lot of time on materials and lots of details in the modeling. I did some really heavy post work, mostly getting the colors / lighting just right.

This is a private residence in California.

We have been experimenting a little with snow, night lighting, and different color schemes. This is rendered using Max and Vray. It was output as separate render channels in .exr format, then composited using Photoshop.
