I'm having lot of fun with photoshop!! After being at AD#3 I decided to make some "painting" tests in photoshop.
I've modeled very quickly the entire building based on an existing project (Maison R a Sèvres)

After setting up material and light (only hdr and some light for interiors) i started painting in post
this is the final result.
Hope you like it!!

Mexican firm Rojkind Arquitectos' design for the ORDOS 100 project is based on traditional cave dwellings in China, often referred to as yaodant. The 1000 sq. mr (10,700 sq.ft) design for Ordos, Mongolia is engineered to work with the harsh winters and hot summers.

maintains the underlying principal of nomadic dwellings to provide shelter from extreme climatic conditions. The design submerges itself into the landscape, providing warmth through the winter and cool air during the summer with passive solar and geothermal design elements incorporated.

A competition image for Patalab architects, this involved a quick turn around of 2 or 3 days. The basic building and landscape was modelled in Maya and rendered with Mental Ray. Then came plenty of Photoshop work, including all planting composited from site photography and other landscapes shot specifically for this image.

Looks like they have suceeded in wining the project so a job well done!
