It is being positively an interesting year for SHL in China (and in addition for us).
They have managed to win really impressive competitions there and this Library located in Shanghai is no exception.
Their proposal saw off competition from Kengo Kuma, David Chipperfield and Dominque Perrault to win the prestigious commission after a 6 month two stage process.
We guess that we do “our magic” best when the communication is simple and we feel trusted about the art direction we suggest.
Thanks all the Shanghai Crew out there for the trust and the creative freedom you provided us with.
For sure we´ll win some more this next year eventually

It's Christmas, More than a day in December. It's all of those things that we love to remember.
This house can never get too full Just grow from floor to floor because the joy of memories, Is always making more, And that corner tree that shine the carols that touch my mind , All the things I want to say Love of family and friends completes it all.

I have been going back to some older scene that I don't think I did well enough and this was one of them. I changed a lot, only keeping a few elements. I used what I have learnt in the past year and applied it to this new render. I wanted it to be rough and industrial but I never achieved that in the first render.

I made this in 3DS Max, rendered with VRay. The bedding was done using Marvelous Designer. I'm not entirely happy with the bedding, but my trial of MD expired earlier this year. unfortunately. I did quite a bit of post-processing to improve the lighting and reflections.
