During those last years I realized that I created quite many models, for this new personal project I choose to put some of them in a furniture store and I used a old industrial building for that with few re-factoring and keeping the old concrete base environment.

As usual everything was modeled with Blender and render with Octane Render. In such a complex environment I suspected a lot of renders so I decided to only use the Direct Light Ambient Occlusion kernel to keep the rendering time under 1h, due to lack of indirect light with DL AO, some postpro was required to get a better lightning and all in all I'm quite satisfied with the result.

The rendering time was from 30min to 1h depending on the scene complexity and resolution.
Some images was rendered in 1200x1600 (portrait) and for landscape 2560x1440 and 4000x2000.
The scene is lit with sunlight and hdr map.

I'm preparing an online shop to provide my models for sale, hope to find the time to finish that and if so I'll be back soon with more info hopefully.

Hi,

Here is a personal project of a media bar. It's far from being finished, I could have added more and more stuff but it took me enough work and I have to switch to something else, so I consider it as finished.

Everything modeled with Blender 2.7
Rendered with Octane Render Standalone on two GTX580
Render Kernel used : Only direct lighting AO
Each image took less then 1h, sometimes even less then 30min in 2400x1200
Lit with sunlight and and HDR map all together thanks to the new Octane 2.0
Lot of instances for the greenery.
Some postpro mainly to improve lighting.

Here is an outdoor scene integrating a villa inspired by the Type Variant house (Vincent James Associates Architects) which is another project I started some times ago and that I hope to finish one day.

The goal wasn't to achieve a photoreal result but something with a more painting feeling, at least for some images.

Nothing special to say from technical point of vue, as usual I mixed sunlight result with an hdr lit render and of course lot of instances to create all that nature environment.

Everything was modeled in Blender, trees are generated with my own tree generator script.

Rendered with Octane Standalone.
Render time from 30 min to 1h on two gtx580.

This is a peaceful place dedicated to the dreams and the wellness.
It's an ample bedroom and nothing else just for spending good nights observing the milky way in the middle of the wood.

Technical aspects:
Modeled with blender 2.74 and MD
Greenery: Home made trees and a mix of home made grass and some grass essential models by Andrew Price
Rendered with Octane 2.23.1 using the Direct lighting AO kernel
Illumination : sun + hdr
Rendering time : around 40 min depending on the image size (4000x2250 for landscape and 2000x2400 for portrait)
Postpro to enhance the lighting and to add some atmospheric using the Z-Depth map.

3DS Max, Vray

This is a scene I'm currently working on. The scene is pretty closed to being finished but in truth I'm not ENTIRELY happy with it. I don't know if its because I keep staring at the same image or not. I got the feeling that the render is missing that "wow" effect. Any professionals care to shed some light? Constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. I am looking to make this look as photo realistic as I possibly can.

I want to use this render I found for an example of the type of realism I am trying to achieve:

How would I go about bringing the realism of my render up to this level?

The seed of this concept was in my mind well before the actual start. As a first phase we spent a week researching references and detailing the idea then the actual modelling work could be started. I designed all building in the sceen putting special emphasis on the main building.
The most challenging part was the clip art. The concept features look-alike (cloned) people but as a contradiction they had to be shown in a natural way. We took nearly 500 photos to select the most suitable ones.

Hopefully we managed to catch this special morning feel in a near future metropolis where many similar people live their life...
