🏍️In 2023, Heatherwick Studio designed a unique public park and motorcycle amphitheater for Harley-Davidson, located next to the company's headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This design features an open-air amphitheater that can accommodate up to 700 motorcycles, primarily for motorcycle rallies. Additionally, the park will serve as part of Harley-Davidson's 120th-anniversary celebrations.
The new park will replace an existing parking lot and aims to provide a green, open space for employees and visitors. The design includes tiered seating, motorcycle pathways, a turning circle, and 360-degree viewpoints. The park will be planted with 20 types of trees and 120 types of plants, enhancing the area's biodiversity. The amphitheater's structure will utilize ten locally sourced bricks and weather-resistant steel materials.
Our team has reimagined the renderings of this motorcycle amphitheater. In the daylight-filled streets, people enjoy snacks at a small stall, while motorcycle enthusiasts admire their beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, showcasing warmth and vibrancy. The open-air amphitheater is filled with Harleys, and everyone gathers to experience the lively atmosphere of the rally, with laughter and joy all around. As night falls, a band performs passionately on stage, and the audience enthusiastically participates under the night sky, with lighting effects making the scene even more enchanting. This project not only provides a venue for motorcycle enthusiasts but also creates a vibrant social and leisure space for the public, where everyone can find joy.
Funded by the Harley-Davidson Foundation, this project is expected to open in 2024. "Four wheels move the body, Two wheels move the soul."
