The Mint

The project is a renovation of the historic Mint building in San Francisco. The building is the original San Francisco Mint, which played a vital role in the gold rush of the late 1800's. The building has sat nearly vacant and slowly degrading for decades. But now, thanks to many peoples hard work, it is in the design phase of a renovation that will convert it to a museum.
The rendering is a conceptual study of how a roof garden might work into the design. The garden would contain indigenous plantings, and potentially server as an event space.
Technically, there is a huge problem with the transparency of the glass when matted against the sky. It has never bothered me as much as it should, so I have been ignoring fixing it for the time being.
