VizReimaginationVenture | Redefining the Heart of Seoul

🌿 In 2020, Henning Larsen Architects designed Seoul Valley, winning the central Seoul development design competition and showcasing the endless possibilities of future urban environments. As the second stop of our VRV project, we are reinterpreting this remarkable project. By integrating the changing seasons and the transition between day and night, we highlight Seoul Valley's charm across different times of the year and aim to evoke a rich emotional experience for our viewers.
Supporting Seoul's 2030 Plan: Reshaping Urban Structure
——
This plan emphasizes balanced development, people-centered growth, and multi-faceted collaboration, guiding Seoul's urban renewal with a comprehensive and inclusive vision. Its goal is to transform Seoul into a more livable, workable, and visitable city by 2030. Seoul Valley is undoubtedly a shining gem in the Seoul 2030 plan. The project focuses on the spaces between buildings and pedestrian pathways, enhancing public life in the city center through designs emphasizing comfort and greenery rather than just shops and amenities.
Harmonious Coexistence of Architecture and People: Urban Ecological Revitalization
——
In the design of Seoul Valley, buildings are not just spaces for living and use but are also bridges that promote harmonious coexistence between people and nature. Spacious public areas, lush rooftop gardens, and vibrant indoor plants resonate with Henning Larsen partner Jacob Kurek's statement: “As an industry, we've known for a long time the benefits of daylight, exterior views, greenery.”
Fusion of Modern and Traditional: The Renaissance of Korean Houses
——
Seoul Valley masterfully blends modern architectural design with elements of traditional Korean houses, creating a unique urban landscape. The juxtaposition of traditional Korean house elements with modern glass curtain walls not only preserves cultural heritage but also imbues the architecture with new vitality.
Seoul Valley entered the design phase in the spring of 2021. While the construction progress and completion timeline may be influenced by various factors, let's look forward to its realization and the new energy it will bring to Seoul's future development!
Stay tuned for more updates on the VRV project!
